Ricardo Uyema says:

I knew that this goal was going to completely over-rated for what it was and people were going to be reactionary. Dont take me wrong, the goal was magnificent and personally his best one. But to state all of sudden he the GOAT because of a crazy goal is stupid. Its like a bicycle kick is the difference between Messi and Ronaldo. The goal had been done before and his been done in far more difficult situations. The goal was still great but since is Cristiano we tend to put more into it than it already is, we do that with Messi when he takes on a whole team and scores.

That being said, no he isnt the best, he isnt even the best player of his generation. Is he the best goalscorer on his generation? Yes, he is with Messi. In terms of OVERALL players and complete forward? No. Is he a complete striker/goalscorer? Yes. There is a difference.

As too it being his fault that Real Madrid are where they are in La Liga. Its partially his fault. But everyone with a functioning eye knows that Cristiano relies on service a lot more. He is Real Madrid's outlet scorer, their offence is created specifically for Cristiano to have a shot on net, thats his job and thats we he does well. Yes, there were games through the course of the season where Cristiano was at fault when he was provided service and didnt finish and the whole world laughed at him with his 2% conversion rate, but Kroos, Modric, Bale, Benzema, Asensio, Isco, Marcelo, Carvajal are all to blame because they provide him his service. Real Madrid as a whole underperformed, but no and yes Ronaldo is liable for the early loss of Real Madrid's La Liga campaign. That being said, UCL is all he has to play for, La Liga doesnt matter anymore.

Junior De La Cruz says:

I get it. It is an amazing goal incredible i must say, but a goal doesn't prove anything. At the end of the day that goal is going like one more for the stat sheet. And don't come to me saying that Messi never scored that type of goal. Right. Messi never scored that type of goal but CR7 never dribble past 4 players and scored at tight angle. And also Messi's goal is going to the stat sheet. Imo what defines a G.O.A.T is the raw talent, intelligence (soccer IQ) on a football pitch, moments of magic where we as fans go crazy. And on top of all respect for our game. The beautiful game. I can name numerous magical moments from Messi and Ronaldo that i wont be able to stop until next week. I don't see that happening with Pele or Maradona or any other player. And it might be bc im too young, I understand. But the legends of messi and ronaldo are going to outlive any other legends and i don't think anyone can deny that. God blessed us all by giving us these players but most importantly he gave us the beautiful game "football"
