He's a scapegoat. He was the only Argentine scoring any goals in 2010 world cup. He scored important knockout goal in the semi-final in 2014 as well. Everyone misses goals, and even the best of strikers miss so called easy chances. He scored in the last minute against Inter in 2017-18 when Napoli was 1 point away and to play later (second last game of serie a) so that's not an important goal then?
So…now that he's retired from internationals, I'm assuming Argentina are going to win every major tournament , yes? Like the 2019 Copa…oh wait, you mean its over and Argentina didn't even get to the finals? Surely, they did better in the 2018 World cup Higuain hardly played then. I appreciate his passion and contribution to team but Higuain is not a big game player. WHY?
1. His goal against Inter was very straight forward you don't need any extraordinary skill for that goal it was just a goal.
2. He is always panic when he get the ball inside the box , therefore always try to shot on the target as quickly as he can.
Even if he shots on the target ,he doesn't look at the goalkeeper's position,legs,balance etc …
This is why he has never improved further.
3. his goals entirely dependent on his performance and the quality of the team he is playing for , BUT not on his class.
I respect Inter but they are still improving if Higuain does the same in knock out stages against Barca, Bayern , Liverpool
then i will apologise for my ignorance.
